The 'Relatedness' System: How YouTube Connects and Terminates Multiple Channels
YouTube uses a sophisticated 'relatedness' system to detect if multiple channels belong to the same person. If one channel is terminated or demonetized, YouTube can shut down all associated channels as a 'repeat offender.'
⚠️ Critical Risk: Most terminations happen automatically via AI; no human ever reviews the case unless specific thresholds are met.
The Three Tiers of Detection
TIER 1 (Strongest - Just ONE connects you)
- High CLADE threshold (>= 0.999446) pattern algorithm
- Shared phone number or verified secondary email
- Strong Madison relation (primary owner + shared secondary emails)
- Device IDs (Android/iOS) or IMSI_HASH (SIM card identifier)
TIER 2 (Medium - Need TWO for connection)
At least one must be 'technical'
- Technical: Machine fingerprints, DreamR device ID, unverified AdSense emails.
- Content: Similar metadata (titles, banners), comments, or identical email patterns.
TIER 3 (Weakest - Need One Tier 2 + Two Tier 3)
- Creation IP (GAIA) and common upload/login IPs
- DUSI (internal identifier)
How to Protect Your Operations
If you run a legitimate multi-channel business, separation is key:
- Unique Identity: Use different phone numbers and verified emails for every channel.
- Technical Isolation: Use different browser profiles or devices to avoid machine fingerprinting.
- Network Privacy: Use dedicated IPs or VPNs for creations and uploads.
- Branding: Avoid copy-pasting descriptions or using identical templates.
Note: If you're creating quality content and following the rules, this shouldn't be a concern. Focus on growth and hitting that first $10K month!
